What a wonderful waste of time beschäftigt sich mit der Figur des Narren, der in sich ambivalent ist: lustig und beängstigend, unterhaltsam und melancholisch, unantastbar und fragil, wichtig und unwichtig, vulgär und einfältig. Und gesellschaftskritisch. Der Narr spricht die Wahrheit, weil das sonst niemand tut.

Als Archetyp steht der Narr sowohl für den Ursprung der Kreativität als auch für das Irrationale bzw. das Chaotische. In den Tarotkarten hat er keine Nummer – er kann überall zugeordnet werden.

Elina Lautamäki und das Team fragen sich, wie sich der Narr in einer Performance gestalten lässt? Durch Schreiben, Träumen, Ahnen und Improvisieren entsteht eine Solo-Performance, die das Publikum freut und verwirrt.

What a wonderful waste of time deals with the figure of the fool, who is ambivalent in himself: funny and frightening, entertaining and melancholy, untouchable and fragile, important and unimportant, vulgar and simple-minded. And socially critical. The jester speaks the truth because

no one else does.
As an archetype, the Fool represents both the origin of creativity and the irrational or chaotic.

It has no number in the tarot cards - it can be assigned anywhere.
Elina Lautamäki and the team ask themselves how the Fool can be shaped in a performance?

By writing, dreaming, anticipating and improvising, a performance is created that delights and confuses the audience.
